I often hear the words 'how do you know what to paint' or 'I cant think of anything to paint'.    This is because the 'subject-matter collection and stimulation machinery' section of that creative person is not functioning.    Creative folk should never have to put up with such a dilemma.

Sure, there will be times when you don't feel like doing certain things, but with a proper emphasis in your life on the collection of subject-matter stimuli then there should rather be a backlog of ' things to be done if I only could find the time!'   You can develop a culture of collecting things to spice-up your aesthetic taste buds!   I have a library of tens of thousands of collected images which I share with folk who paint with us.    Some of the sub-collections are special, like documented photos and sketches from my travels, and only for my use, whilst others are general scenes, and can be used by all.    This section has a limited collection of such general images for you to look at.

Picasso apparently said that a bad artist will copy, whilst a true artist will steal!

Whilst in this section only I relinquish the copyright I hold over the photographs contained therein, it is my desire that they should be 'stolen' from, in the name of art.    To 'steal' means to turn it into your own, rather than to just do a mechanical facsimile.    You add an 'inventive step forward'.    You will know if you are doing this.    We also all know that most artists say that they don't work off photographs but that most of them do.    And if used correctly, to steal from, then I have no problem with that.    Further conditions in respect of the relinquishing of copyright are set out in the box below.
